ACCESSIBILITY
At GRUB everyone is welcome but popping up in abandoned buildings makes this tricky sometimes! You’ll find some notes on our current venue below but if you have any questions or concerns we urge you to drop us an email to info@grubmcr.com so we can have a chat about your visit before the day.
Getting to and from GRUB
- GRUB does not have its own car park. The nearest public car parks are Red Bank Car Park, located on Faber St, and the car park on Roger St. They do not have designated accessible parking spots.
- Vehicles may drop-off passengers directly in front of the venue. The drop off point does not have a drop curb.
- The nearest train station is Manchester Victoria (0.4 miles / 0.64 km away from CPH). Click here for station accessibility information.
- The closest bus stop is on Cheetham Hill Road. Buses servicing these stops include Go North West and Stagecoach. Some buses are accessible for wheelchair users. More detailed information is available here.
Venue Access
- The main entrance to GRUB is located at 50 Red Bank. For wheelchair access to our cinema or upstairs Hall, the rear exit to the cinema will be used. FOR THIS REASON, WE REGRET THAT OUR FIRST FLOOR HALL SPACE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DURING CINEMA SCREENINGS AND CERTAIN CINEMA EVENTS. We’re very sorry about that! Please email info@grubmcr.com ahead of your visit to let us know about any access requirements. If you plan to attend an event or table booking in the Hall please advise timings for arrival - we can advise whether you will be able to access the space.
- The pavement is flush with the main entrance door. There are steps and a sloped entrance into the venue.
- The main doors can be pushed or pulled but will usually be held open. There are large open gates leading to our beer garden from the pavement, if you use this entry please alert the door host and they will find a seat for you.
Inside the Venue
- There is one accessible toilet within this venue designated for public use. The toilet is not for the sole use of people with a disability. Accessible toilets are open to all that need them regardless of impairment, long term condition, or disability. This toilet is located on the ground floor.
- The bar in the Basement Bar is the most conveniently located in relation to the main entrance. The bar located in The Hall is wheelchair accessible from the upstairs cinema, but please be aware that the accessible entrance leading to the The Hall cannot be used during cinema screenings and certain cinema events.
- If you are attending an event in the upstairs cinema or wish to use the upstairs bar in The Hall please talk to a member of staff, and they will allow you to use the accessible entrance, which exits onto the sloped street leading to the front door. We are always working towards making our venue as acccessible as possible and apologise for this workaround.
- If you are attending an events in The Dining Room (on our ground floor) please note that the doorframe is slightly narrow at 63cm wide so may not be accessible for some wheelchairs. Please consider this before purchasing a ticket for a workshop in this space.
- GRUB is a dog-friendly venue. Dogs, including assistance dogs, are welcome in all areas of GRUB. Water bowls can be provided by members of staff upon request.
